Oil Leak

Crying or Very sad
We appear to have an oil leak - apparently from back end of engine -from sandwich plate between sump and block.

1 Specialist says it can be fixed without body removal, another says it cant!

whats the consensus here??

rough procedure to remove

Remove Fan
Remove fan cowl top and BOTTOM.
Remove Aux belt & tensioner.
Drain oil, remove lower sump. Remove oil pick up pipe 8mm bolts.
Disconnect turbo oil drain pipe.
Remove dip stick. Remove dip stick tube bolt at the top, pull up a few inches. Do not REMOVE! As its a pain to re thread it through the engine.
Remove the bracket for the automatic gearbox cooler pipes, by the AC compressor. I think a 13mm UJ is required for this.
Unto the 8mm bolts holding the power cable conduit up.
Remove starter motor. (the tiny bolts into the sump gave me problems breaking)
You will need to pull the 2 small pipes out of the steering rack on the drivers side. Oil will drain out.
The sump should now move foward and upwards by the radiator

May need to remove front propshaft

Thumbs Up
Thanks.

I will prob get a specialist to do it, crawling around in the floor in this weather doesn’t appeal! I’m guessing about 6hrs on a ramp plus gaskets and sealer .

This may hurt a little!!
