I picked one of these up, unscrewed my oil pressure sensor but could I get the threaded adapter in it's place...could I heck.
On the 3.0, there appears to be a casting on the head which prevents getting a 21mm deep socket on to tighten it up
Any ideas chaps? Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture
Can you make something up Kev to get you enough purchase on it? I don't think it would need to be very tight.

I'll have to have think about it further, Den. I might be able to fashion something up to get at least some kind of grip on it Kev

The female threaded hole on the head of our V6 is NPT 1/4 18G NOT M14x1,5 as I saw in different forums. Checked personaly with thread counter!!!!
Pay attention to this, they are very similar to each other and M14x1.5 male thread is screwed onto the female NPT 1/4 18G thread but obviously tends to ruin the thread, especially at the end, when it is tightened.

Thanks dgardel
So I nipped out today to take a picture. Here is my NPT 1/4" 18G oil pressure gauge adapter screwed a few threads in by hand. It's just I cannot tighten it up because I cannot get a grip on it.

I wonder if there is some kind of extension I could purchase. I'm going to have a Google around...Kev

Can you use a nut with a matching thread to squeeze the adaptor down? A large screwdriver placed into the gap between the adaptor and the casing should prevent it coming undone when you remove the nut!yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

I think I know what you mean Den. The top bit of the adapter is a push fit fitting though, not a threaded one. This wasn't clear from my previous poor pic - sorry.

Hi den me old mucker, hope ur keeping well
@knwakins, hiya , plus 1 what den has mentioned , also if it’s any use in the past I’ve used a plumbers tap wrench for some very awkward items
Plus a crows foot might work

Ah! Sorry Kev I didn't realise it was a push fit for the gauge so I see your problem clearly now. The gap looks too tight to fashion a spark plug type tool!
You could make a tool by drilling two opposing holes in the face of the adaptor. Then make a tube like tool to fit the holes or, place a circlip pliers into the holes and use a screwdriver between the jaws to turn the adaptor. To be honest though you'd be just a quick or quicker buying the threaded extn.
If it were me I'd go for the £20 one rather than the short and weaker brass option! (After I'd had a go at the tool first though)
