The old hazards flashing, stereo/HVAC shutdown fault |
|
Hi,
Got a MY 2009 Disco 3 GS 2.7 TDV6 that has been struck down by the intermittent fault of the hazards flashing, doors unlock continually, HVAC and stereo shut down, LCD displays on dashboard show no ext temp or clock etc. The speedo and rev counter keep working as do the fuel and temperature guages. Harsh language and thumping the dashboard have not helped resolve the fault, believe me this I have tried repeatedly.
I checked the battery itself and the battery and engine earth - all good. Alternator also seems to be doing its job too so I'm reasonably confident it's not battery / low voltage related from what I can tell.
I've sent off the instrument cluster to be repaired today and so I have about a week to wait for it to come back hopefully repaired, but in the meantime I was looking for other suggestions to check while I can't do much else.
I have removed the stereo, HVAC controls etc on the console to check there are no loose connections - there aren't. Heck, I even repaired the ashtray while I had it all apart.
It doesn't have a sunroof, so no drains to worry about, but I checked for dampness behind the glove box anyhow and can't find any.
Any other ideas of things I can check folks? Tom

Its just a common issue with these vehicles and usually affects a certain VIN range.
