I just bought a D4 with 140k miles on it a few weeks back. It feels much better than my old D3 did which I sold at a similar mileage. Just breezed up the motorway to Scotland for our holidays and it is noticeably quieter than the d3 ever was., it also uses less fuel. There’s pitfalls to either but just buy and be prepared to spend some money (my manifold split the week after I bought it but I got a good enough deal buying it privately that I was still ahead of the comparable dealer pricing after the repair) 2011 D4 SDV6 HSE
