One week on.....
Had my D3 for a week and am loving it.
So far I have put a few miles commuting, adjusted the bonnet catch as the passenger side was waving at me down the motorway, put my DISCO3 stickers on and despite some long night shifts grinned all the time!!!
Loved my P38 and all my various other LR products but this is definitely in a different league.
Checked the service history and contacted the previous indy who verified the mileage as a genuine 36000 and that the belts haven't been done even though it is now 9 years old. Apparently the last owner was a retired farmer who due to the mileage he did decided not to have them done .
Booked in with Guava next week for the belts and a service. Oh and the hi / low switch to be sorted. Just might have to keep the bill hidden and make some excuses to stay away from Ikea that the dearly beloved was banking on!
She is going to be a keeper!! The D3 that is, SWMBO is too expensive to get rid of...

Your very lucky to find a genuine low miler like that . Mines now clocked up 103K . I'm not worried though as it still drives like a dream.
You are aware though that it doesn't actually exist until we see pics 8) Get them posted!

So 'Bella' as swmbo has called the discovery is in at Guava in Guildford for the belts to be done...two years overdue
Call from James at Guava to say there are a few other bits that need doing as I had asked them to go through it with a fine tooth comb so reckon that is going to cost a pretty penny. New brake pads front and rear, brake pipes, front suspension bushes, a new horn (thought it sounded weedy) and other bits that disappeared into the mental arithmetic whilst the missus was eyeing up a new sofa!
Tomorrow, I feel, is going to be a very expensive day.Series 2a V8 killed it

back from Guava and a couple of grand lighter
Bella has been transformed. She goes round corners and stops quite well. Of course peace of mind knowing the belts have been done is immense. 8) Oh they gave her a wash and polish as well so we not only go good we also look good!
Figure might have to see if there is overtime at work to pay for the service....Series 2a V8 killed it
