One wiper blade stopped... |
|
The money pit has had another day of fun.
With the rain, the wife put the wipers on and the drivers side stopped half way then dropped to the scuttle where it stays.
I assume the motors ok, as the other blade kept wiping.
Anyone had this? Owner of a 2010 Discovery 4 XS.

I’ve had a look, and the stopped blade (drivers side) is stiff, but, it can be moved without the wipers going on,nwheras the one still working can’t. So, eiither the nit has becone loose, or tgen thread is stripped, Ira tge mech has come apart Owner of a 2010 Discovery 4 XS.

Sounds like the wiper arm (soft material) has stripped, as you say.You may need a new arm.... Remove it, clean the alloy remains from the spindle splines. New arms come without splines, you have to position them correctly and gently tap them onto the spindles, thus cutting splines into the hole in the arm. Then refit retaining nut. D3 owned from new, P017 brake recall, BAS FBHIC, new FBH, LR013487 oil pump, new water pump. RRS front lower suspension arms. New suspension compressor/ relay. New Denso alternator. CuNifer rear brake pipes. New GKN rear propshaft. New HPFP belt & tensioner. New A/C Condenser.NO WARRANTY for many many years.

Well that really is a design! Let’s blame it on Ford...or BMW.
