One year on
Just thought I’d do a somewhat boring and rather vein post about my 2010 D4 Xs. When I bought it last October as a reward for finishing the second year of my three year apprenticeship, it was very much a factory standard XS and I loved it, personally I prefer the light interior contrast against the black outside. I remember a friend of mine with a D3 inviting me on a greenlaning day and scoffing at the idea telling him it was too nice for that
So here comes the change list. First modification was to get Bodsy out to update the 4x4 info screen, just in case I ever went off road. Then I started to notice modified discos around with subtle sump guard and roof racks and decided I had to go hard or go home.
Next up was a Devon 4x4 sump guard, Wrangler Duratracs all round and a Direct 4x4 half length roof rack.
As you can guess I had fallen for the greenlaning bug and it was now a semi-regular event, and a Pyrenees trip was planned (separate post in progress)
Once back from Pyrenees I came across a set of Compomotive pd1881s with BFG Ko2s which were my dream wheel/tyre combo.
As luck would have it a prospeed rack came up for sale and I jumped all over it. My dream look of a rugged D4 was coming together with only sliders left to get. It had to be the Shire Fabrications sliders, I love the prospeed sliders but no easy was I paying that much for them.
So overall it’s been a busy/expensive year here’s to the next mods

Can’t wait for mudfest 2, I was mega impressed by how well it coped at the first one on the Pirelli scorpions so the cars ability has probably well exceeded my limit of Nerve now iid BT, Devon 4x4 sump guard, Compomotive PD1881s with 33” Toyo Open Country MT’s, Prospeed Mk2 Roof Rack, Prospeed Rear Access Ladder
