Option left off my new Discovery
I just received my Discovery which i ordered in February.
I wanted the rear air con option as it gave rear passenger the option to have the temperature how they wanted. This package included extra air vents in the roof plus two vents in the boot where my dog sits.
When the car came it was not there. My dealer missed it but looked on the order form and it was there. Land Rover never bothered to tell the dealer that the option was taken off the 2016 model. I really wanted this. Land Rover took the money for it and made my dealer pay for the omission plus free 5 year servicing to say sorry. I feel sorry for the dealer as it was not their fault.White Landcover Discovery SE Tech

Why just remove an option? Bizarre?
It cannot be rocket science to add A/C to the rear?

they said the option had been discontinued . if it wasn't i would have insisted having it. thing is 2 days before picking it up, it was still on the web site as an option. its gone nowWhite Landcover Discovery SE Tech

I heard it was because they were forced to fit the adblue to adhere to European emissions for the 16MY and the rear aircon was removed as a result (I think due to space).

Oddly, the reason LR give is weight 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

The rear AC is brilliant ..... Ok the pipes have to be swapped out every 3 years & 57 days.....but that's the way an o ring fails
Rear ac ....It was on the original D3's & then was taken away I was told because of rear infotainment controls
Then it re appeared....
Then it disappeared .....BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics

That must be disappointing ...the get out for LR is that the T's & C's do state that specifications can change without notice. Hard to think that the dealer would be out of pocket unless it was their mistake.... it could be that they were notified of specification changes after order but didn't apply them or notify the customer. I have same issue my 2015MY that came with rear aircon as ordered but have had some issues with the vehicle and have been offered all my money back or replacement but they cannot replace with spec that I originally ordered Defender 300Tdi 110 HCP - Keswick Green

I wouldn't have thought the presence of the rear AC kit + the container for add blue would be a reason to delete one in favour of the other....even if the containers was 10 litres (which it wont be) its maybe 15 kilos extra.BREXIT - done properly.
