United Kingdom 2012 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Siberian SilverDiscovery 4
Options ?

Right off to dealers either Friday or Sat to order new HSE. My spec chosen is below, I would be grateful if more experienced peeps could tell me if I am missing anything that might be important at a later date please ?

HSE in Siberian Silver
20" Alloys
Vision Assist
Privacy Glass
Full size spare
Heated Steering wheel

Not sure about active rear diff, dealer said only needed if I plan to do a lot of off road, which I don't ?

Park Heating, the HSE has this without the remote is that correct, what is it exactly and is the £350 just for the remote, so how does that work then ?

Anything I might have missed ?

Cheers Thumbs Up
Ian

Park heating you set up from the control panel to come on (if cold enough) at a specific time. Usually set up for say 30 mins before you leave in the morning. Drawback is you need a regular routine. Remote allows you to press plipper whenever you need to. Has a good transmit range, meant to be about 1000 feet. Remote also gives confirmation of successful switch on (or not).

£350 is for remote and additional receiver box of tricks. You will still have dash driven timer if you need it.

Even an HSE doesn't come with carpet mats.
They're cheaper if you specify as part of the build (even cheaper if you can twist the dealer's arm), although the accessory ones are supposed to be better quality - at £166 they need to be

Hi
will add my pennies worth;
1. 20" wheels, just order the std ones, then look for an after market wheel and tyre set (as i did) that cost around £1200 (set of 4 275 tyres and black 20" wheels), then sell your origional wheels for more and make some cash.
2. get the park heat blip thingy, you will never regret it.
3. centre cooler box, great in warm weather.
4. forget the active dif, had this option, and never came into play.
5. HSE comes with walnut trim, think about black option, looks allot better.
6. tow bar?
7. load space mat?
8. dog guad, stops things coming into passenger area in the event of a crash?
9. roof rails?

just some ideas.
 Cheers

China 2011 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 HSE Auto Santorini BlackDiscovery 4

mine came with fbh transmitter range about...10ft...still nice to have.

get everything.. then gloat

also bear in mind many items are quite cost effective fitted as standard and others are a PITA to fit after
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Retail price for a pair of mudflaps (front or rear) is £68. So that's £136 for a full set of 4. Your dealer wants more than £200 to fit them Shocked
Mine were done in November for £185 all in.

Hi Peely, I would seriously recommend flaps they keep the sides clean and prevent paint damage on the rear arches, wish I'd fitted mine from new. Just had a local independant fit and supply OEM flaps for £168 inc VAT, if you want to fit yourself Marshalls are selling original sets for £116 on ebay.

You will find that the rear arches will be badly pitted in no time if you don't fit mudflaps, couldn'e believe the state of mine after only 4 weeks ownership, so if you really are concerned about the look of your car it's a bit of a no brainer.
