My dealer called today to put my order on the system. I ordered an HSE in Santorini black with Ebony premium leather and Grand Black lacquer. The system then offered the various options. I have ordered the following and these were all available on the system:
Privacy glass
Heated Steering Wheel
Rear Entertainment screens
Hybrid TV
Reversing Camera
Surround Cameras
Removable Tow Pack
Cubby box cooler
Adaptive Lighting
It also offered but I declined:
Programmable FBH
Rear Locking Differential
Full size spare
Tyre pressure monitor
No costs came up or are available to my dealer but the system did say that the delivery date would be 12th. September....................we'll see!!!
Anyway Hurray I'm chuffed to have something to look forward to. I just hope that I don't have the problems I had with my D3 (2004) 2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE

So if they come back with a total bill nearer £60k than £50k what are you going to do, or indeed can you cancel if it is more expensive than you expected. Or are you one of those fortunate chaps that CNGAF I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I'd opt for the full-size spare if I were you. Ever tried towing with a spacesaver on? I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Congratulations
It's strange though how you can put an order into the system without actually agreeing/knowing the price?

It's weird, but of all the options you mentioned, these 4 would be my only 4 must-haves and the rest would be declined if I was watching the pennies. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

Well I really do have to GAF, but there is no other car that ticks all the boxes for family and business. I have used the cost of currently available options and the spreadsheet that's floating around the forum to come up with an the road price of about £53K. If it came to loads more I'd just have to keep the car longer than I might otherwise.
As far as a full sized spare is concerned I'd never try towing with a spacesaver, but then I don't think I'd want to uncouple a big trailer on a hard shoulder somewhere to change a rear wheel either. I'm lucky in that our business involves road transport so we have an account with a 24hr tyre service.
Options......well I wouldn't go for the locking rear diff because 1. it's expensive 2. I had one on my D3 and it made precious little difference in the rough stuff and 3. You'll never re-coup the cost on trade or second hand value as most buyers or stealers don't know what the hell it is.
The FBH option is nearly £1k and I don't think life is predictable enough to be able to set the timer and my car is parked too far away from my house for the plipper to work.
I know my dealer will make sure that I have the car I need at the right price (within reason!)
I have TPM on my current Jeep Commander and in three years I have probably looked at it 5 times and then only because I was scrolling through other info. on the EVIC screen.
I have ordered the cameras because they allow you to hitch a trailer single handed and I do a lot of towing.
The heated steering wheel I have on my Range Rover and it's brilliant.
Privacy glass stops casual passers by seeing kit in the back of the car.
I had the chilled cubby box on my D3 and used it all the time for kids drinks and stuff. 2011 D4 Landmark, Mini Cooper SD Clubman, Range Rover Vogue SE

I hope that's a printing error......
The dealer order system offered the 4 camera system as an option and allowed the dealer to enter it on the order.

Fair play to you mwestcrew,
nice spec and great (I mean GREAT!) colour choice
Don't worry about what others would or wouldn't have in their spec, it's each to their own, my spec would be different again, but it's still what you want
It looks like yoiu'll be one of the first to get it, so just please make sure you keep us updated when you get it and come to one of the meets so that you can get 100 people clamouring all over it Bodsys Brake Bible
