Hello Devonchilliman,
Well thanks for the welcome, but the not such fun part will be paying for it over the next few years. Sadly the dealer didn't want to give it away to me for free, even though I asked them really nicely, he-he!!! (I think that this will be one of their highest/better specced up D4 HSE's that they have had!!!)
Cheers

Hi
I've just ordered a new car from the same dealer (Westover)...HSE in Aintree with light interior. Should get it about mid March.
No extras, as it's used for field sports and so will spend a lot of time across fields with a dog in the back.
cheers
Paul

Hello Paul,
I'm dealing with David Martin, I only wonder if I should try and push for a discount on the dealer fitted extra's, as I've ordered quite a lot you see (13% discount on my factory order). I would also like to know what your opinion of the servicing is like at this dealership, as my local dealer is in Portsmouth so I may end up going there! Finally, when you got delivery of your last car, was it done with the vehicle inside the showroom or outside? (I expect to take delivery a week after it arrives at the dealer, allowing them time to fit all of the extra's!) PS..... Maybe I'll see you there one day?
Cheers

Hello Old Jack,
Yes, I thought that as I'm to have the car for what I hope is a long time, then I wanted it loaded with all of the relevant goodies. As it is, I'll probably take an eternity to work my way through all of the vehicles tech & equipment. I've chosen Orkney because if as sometimes happens, I don't have the time to clean the wee beastie, then hopefully the colour will go some way towards hiding the fact!
Cheers

Hi all
Sorry not to have replied sooner but for some reason my (allegedly?) superfast Dell PC would not download this forum over the weekend
Anyway to answer your questions. I've dealt with John Haylett for both my cars and then David has handed the car over when I collected. He will most probably do so this time. When I collected the car in Sept 2010 it was parked outside, not in the showroom if that's what you mean. I haven't used them for the one and only service (it's only done 14k miles), I had it done by my local garage which LR say is ok if only LR parts are fitted.
Must admit I thought about Orkney Grey but stayed with Green.
Cheers
Paul

Hello Paul,
Many thanks for the information, you've been a great help. I have to say that the dark green is an attractive combination, but having had a black D3 before, I wanted to steer away from dark colours.
Cheers

Hello Paul,
I've created the nick name as it was a term used to describe soldiers in the 18/19th century, & I also know that a mate of mine might look at the site, which if he realises it is me, will give the game away. I haven't told my mates I'm getting a new beastie, so I want to surprise & shock them when I eventually turn up in it!!
Cheers

Just had word that my build date is delayed by a week to Friday 13th April. Should I be scared?
How long typically from the build date does it take before the dealer gets their hands on it?

I knew my car was in the holding pool and was then given a build date of 06/04 which has now moved as per my previous post. Your dealer should have more information by now based on my experience.

I would, I think my salesman was sick of me asking for updates I think their order system shows the progress of the build Cheers Ian

Ah right, that might explain it then, mine was just a straight forward factory order so maybe a couple of weeks behind yours.
I'll contact them next week for an update.
