Evening all, I'm new to D3 ownership (picking up an 06 HSE at the end of the month) and am slap bang in the middle between Ottons in Salisbury and YLR.
YLR get a lot press here, mainly good and my parents had a FL1 which spent a lot of time in Yeovil's workshop on niggling warranty claims - with ne'er a bad word said.
But what about Ottons?
Any guidance would be gratefully received. The Missus and I will be using the D3 to tow a 2.5 tonne climbing wall so we'll be visiting dealers for routine servicing on a more frequent basis than those driving solo. Hopefully, we'll never have to call on the warranty

Cheers Jimbo23. Choosing an hour's journey compared to 10 minutes down the road must make them special.

Yeovil all the way.
I live just up the road from you and go to Yeovil for all servicing and parts.
I prefer the reception you get at Yeovil!

Y L R again from me, i am on my first D3 and although there not cheap vehicles to look after with main dealers, there is care and attention taken when i have been to YLR. Also Ottons never even got back to me when i asked for them to look for one for me. So i went to Matford in Exeter which i can say is an excellent place to buy one, but not used there service department.

I live 15 miles South of Stratstones Cheltenham and travel to Yeovil LR for service or use 10forCash (Site Sponsor) who comes to you
I also ordered my D4 from Yeovil LR - so yes, IMHO they are special LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Thanks for all the responses folks. I bought mine from Matford too - at the moment, I'm not too impressed with them as the vehicle has a few niggling faults that should have been picked up by the PDI activity (which they promised they would do). In due course, I'll start a new thread for Matford as and when the problems get sorted / ignored!
Just before Chrimbo (and before I collected the vehicle), I wandered along to YLR and bought some of the FL2 video headrests. One is fitted, but not connected to anything yet!

I bought my O8 HSE from YLR in November, nothing but great experience with them so far. I shal be using them for my servicing as much as possible. I live opposite Mr H and bought my D on the same day as he ordered his D4 and I concur with everything he says.

Now I have a real question for all those loyal customers of YLR who travel up to 2 hours each way to have their vehicle serviced once a year.
What do you do in Hovel while you're waiting?
There are some fantastic hills to the South, but most of them are bridleways only and the rock is notorious on tyres. I can't imagine that YLR have a dedicated "go and get it dirty" Disco. SWMBO will soon get bored by Yeovil's retail therapy opportunities and Sherborne (pronounced Sherbun by residents, Sherborrn by most locals) is alright if you're over 70
