Overland Trailer - gas/electric water heaters
Morning all,
Has anyone fitted any type of dual gas/electric water heater to their trailer? We're thinking what with newborn joining us on our travels this year access to instant hot water could be handy.
All I'd say is that it has to work from trailer and not from tow vehicle so heat exchanger/webasto type setup using the D3 isn't going to work for us.
the other option I'm looking at is this https://www.whalepumps.com/rv/product.aspx...eater-8ltr but that seems more complex to install but I'm guessing it could be fitted internally and I'd only need to make sure it had adequate ventilation.
One of the guys in my LR club is a gas plumber so I'm going to check with him too as he'd need to certify it as it's a gas system but I'd like your thoughts too. Pictures good if anyone has had success in installing their own.
Thanks all.Cogito ergo sum!

I don’t think a standard gas plumber can certify trailers mobile homes etc I was told by a plumber it’s a separate qualification! D3 x2 now gone

Thanks Ray that looks perfect and looks as though it has all round great reviews too.
Out of interest can you adjust temperature such that you can just run cold water through that or is it warm at it's minimum setting?Cogito ergo sum!

Iv got a couple of ecotemp heaters ....there great bits of kit as you only need gas and water (battery powered ignition )
Got one in the trailer ...you don't need much room around them for heat dispersion ..but it does need a lot of fresh air to get it to run . I have 2 vents in the trailer gas cupboard ...but ideally the door needs to be open for max use.
Nice temperature ...and good enough for a shower
Also got one in a dog wash I made . I might swap that out for a 12 litre one as i could do with a bit more pressure

Wiggs you've got some skills fair play
Are you never concerned that the heat rising out of the top might get too hot and set the place on fire?Cogito ergo sum!

WHat are those other bits you've got going on in the trailer version? I'm guessing one is a water pump? What the other piece?Cogito ergo sum!
