P0806 fault code

Right have just changed prop shaft and new oil in rear diff for a new now I’m getting this fault code
This is really doing my head in now

Won’t clear with iid tool
 Disco 3 gone but not forGotten
Welcome disco 4

First of all, definitely the right oil for a locking rear diff?

I done that but when it’s finished it just leaves all the abs ,warning light etc on and does nothing I can see

Yea have read them and tried all that to no avail don’t get how changing a propshaft can cause this
Unless it’s cause I had to turn ignition on when getting it out of park as already had rear of prop bolts removed then

Even tried editing the ccf to remove the e-diff and it won’t remove it just says failed at the end of it

Reading the TSB suggests that the calibration bit is performed by running the self test.

The ‘notes’ point heavily to making sure the software versions are up to date, so guessing the odd ecu info option will help with checking your rear diff ecu is uptodate.

I really do know nothing on this kind of thing, a fact I have managed to prove here many times over, but a mechanical engineer experienced friend of mine told me only today that ecu fault info is only relevant to sensors and can’t report on mechanical issues that sensors don’t monitor.

So, relevance being, it’s not your prop shaft unless you have inadvertently disrupted something the sensor reports on.

Or, coincidentally, the sensor, the diff motor, the wiring loom (sure you didn’t accidentally snag something?) the ECU .....

Again, throwing uneducated ideas out with no experience in this direction at all, but hopefully will promote discussion that will help

No didn’t touch anything
Just gonna take motor out tomm and check that’s ok and free
as I never go anywhere where that it would activate as well and wondering if it activated the motor while I was changing it and now it’s stuck or something my iid tool says there is a ecu update for it so have brought it from gap and hopefully get that Monday as the new software is the same version as what Land Rover insist must be done after a motor change in there bulletins

Tbh I searched and searched and cannot find where the clutch senosor is located the only one o can find is a temp sensor 2 pin and a big multi plug on the motor which for the love of god I couldn’t get out temp sensor plug o did get out and back in

Thinking to your issue of not being able to write the thing out of the CCF file, what about unplugging the rear diff ecu?


Seem to remember someone (DSL?) suggesting unplugging modules to help identify wiring faults, but in doing so you had to terminate som connections in order to close the network.

I’m assuming the cambus networks are some sort of token ring that need a closed loop.

Again, just spitballing, but it is Saturday night after all
