if it's your 2016, then worth finding out if covered on the paintwork warranty. Can't remember if it's 5 or 10 years.Gary

I will - probably, when its next due in for its last 5 year service plan in July - I think its a 10 year paint warranty - but of course - I expect a battle. 'must have been a stone chip mate' and the like....
The build quality on this motor (which I got from new) - has been abysmal - from paint sag (which was sent away on a low loader to some 'specialist in Devon) and came back after a week or more looking just the same!- to damaged rear upper door light - amongst many other bodywork issues from new (all detailed on my posts from 2015).
I've said all this before - but I do love the 'ride of the car, its capability and it's power' ....buts its been befriended by build quality issues from the off - even a couple of weeks back I had to adjust the inner tailgate trim to where it should have been FFS!
Safe to say - even if LR sort this rust issue (and having experience of their paint work after they put a screw gouge in the front bumper after replacing a cracked fog light - and leaving the paintwork like I had done it ..... rough and dull) I don't want them to do any paintwork!!.....
Not been a happy LR owner - and it was my first one! - thinking I will just go back to Toyota and make do with a RAV - or some such which would probably be enough for me to get through the floods and mud here in the lanes of Cornwall! 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black
