If you park under a tree, check there are no party balloons

Had a hospital appointment this morning, only free disabled bay was under a tree. came out to find roof and passenger side windows/bodywork covered in streaks of glitter! Mad looked up and there was a birthday/party balloon trapped in the tree. after washing/polishing the car I've managed to get rid of 95% of the glitter but it was hard work! Hopefully the rest will dissapear after a few more washes.

Been looking on the internet and found that a strong snowfoam wash may work.

Good call, Hugh. Horrible things. They become litter in the fields and lanes when they eventually come back to ground, having lost their precious helium. Helium is too precious to be wasted on such nonsense.

Almost as bad as Chinese lanterns...

The Cleveland Balloon Disaster comes to mind.

I wrote to my MS about the waste of Helium (the Senedd love to ban things). She hadn't heard of that before but (somewhat to my surprise) is going to discuss it with their natural resources gurus and would notionally support a ban if appropriate.

I did wonder whether Woody179's post title was a euphemism for condoms!
