Parking brake actuator

Hello again

Just a quick one, where's the best place (and cheapest) to get an epb actuator?

Wife heard a loud squeal the other day when she put the parking brake on, I'm lead to believe that this is the actuator on its way out! Yet another problem!

That is not necessarily so a proper service and adjust of the brake shoes will 99% of the time cure this problem follow the Bodsy brake bible in the wiki its in PDF format so easy to print off. I have managed to keep both mine going after squealing for six years now.

As sputnixb51 says, just because the handbrake squeals doesn't mean the actuator needs replaced, but it will certainly need a good service and again as mentioned by sputnixb51 read Bodsy's brake bible. It is a DIYable maintenance task that Bodsy has made all the easier to perform with his detailed step by step directions.

Once you service and reset the shoes, baring in mind you might have to replace them if they are badly worn or corroded(the actuating arms built into the shoes sieze at the pivot point)your system will be ok light wise though codes read and cleared is the way to go a good code reader also helps you set the EPB for de-mounting the shoes at the same time it re-centralises the actuator. You don't need one to do the job but it helps.

Quick question peeps, unfortunately my rear brakes have now stuck on and can't get the bloody thing to move, is there anyway I can get them to free so I can get the car over to the garage so I can replace the rear brakes?

Cheers
