Parking heater, vents.

Hello.

About to install a 1533 timer with the remote mod soon. Been thinking about this problem with getting the cabin heated at det same time. I know there's some complete kits available now, but have anyone done some research on their own?
Getting the fan started would be no problem, but the vents would.
Do all vents close up when ignition off? What do the heat/cold mix vent do?
