Parking sensor fault codes and rear sounder |
|
I've just bought a 2012 Disco 4 HSE, and I'm trying to get the front/rear parking sensors to work. I get a 3 sec beep from the front parking sensor at ignition, and the parking button blinks if I press it, along with these errors:
B1B57-11 (2F) Front sensors power circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground
B1B58-11 (2F) Rear sensors power circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground
As I've never heard the rear sounder I thought I'd start by replacing that. However when I've checked behind the passenger cargo trim (RHD), I can see where the sounder should go, but there isn't one, and also no connector / cabling for it.
I was hoping someone might know if that suggests it's been removed or if I'm looking in the wrong place? From looking elsewhere / videos it looks like I should have another couple of cables on the loom, but there aren't any and it doesn't look like it's been butchered (still has the wrapping etc).
Cheers

An update on this as I've fixed it thankfully.
I replaced all 4 rear sensors to start with, which changed the error code to problems with all 4 sensors. From looking on this forum that pointed to the loom, so I replaced that, and now everything works.
Based on that I assume there isn't a rear speaker fitted in later disco 4s - although there still is the space for it (but no cable).
Cheers

I have the same fault after changing a faulty rear sensor last week. Did you work out which loom it was? Front, rear or both? I have exact same error codes. Checked each sensor with the IID but nothing untoward with them
Edit: unplugging rear sensor loom removed the fault code so that would point to the rear loom.

Yeah I replaced the rear loom - it was brittle when I switched the sensors so it made sense, and all good since
