If I rememeber correctly, this was one of those "Upon customer complaint" issues. So maybe the first owner of your car did not complain enough.

There was also a problem very early on where the pdc would mysteriously not operate until the vehicle actaully stopped (or hit an obstacle). It would happen if the drive-away feature on the electronic park brake was used. This was also fixed by replacing the epb control module.

So I think there are 3 versions out there.

1. PDC works only if epb is manually released, or when a vehicle 'stopped' signal is received by the ecu.

2. PDC works with epb drive-away, but gives spurious alarms as pedestrians and traffic move close to the front.

3. PDc works, front PDC needs to be selected?

Mine is the second version.
