Part identification help please and advise re wiring
Hi everyone, got my hands dirty for the first time in about 10 years changing the thermostat housing on my D3, and I need a bit of help, I mislaid a bolt holding on (stand by for very technical description) the black box that looks like an air cooler shown in the picture below, I circled the bolt hole, can anyone tell me what is this actually called and bonus points if you know the bolt dimensions

2nd question is some of the wiring the plastic protection has gone brittle and fallen off, guessing this may be heat protection? Do I need to replace it

Thanks in advance,
Andy

Hi
Ref the conduit it does indeed get brittle, just measure the size of the loom and see what ID size u need , I ordered a good few metres seeinf alot of the conduit further back also became brittle
Is that just grease on the large Y piece throttle body or has something melted plse

Thank you for the reply, and for the bolt info, I'm going to whip the under guards off and see if it dropped in there unnoticed although i am pretty sure i would have heard it, that's just grease or some junk that came out when I took the v shaped section out to replace the thermostat housing and I havent cleaned it off yet

As a side note have u checked the left hand intercooler hose please as it looks like it’s worn, might just be the picture , personally replaced all 3 x with silicone ones along with T bolt clamps
The short one is a right pig to get on, usually just the 2 x are replaced, mine was leaking so fitted a new one, that long LH side one splits on the inside of the bend
Certainly wouldn’t hurt in having a look on that LH hose
Hope that also helps u
Ps, enclosed a link for u where I wrote down the hose clamp sizes just in case it’s useful to u at a later date

Sorry only just seen this one , came back in from working on the disco to find my bathroom radiator had decided it didn't want to be water tight any more, only just braved turning the electric back on after drying out as much water as I could lol, will have a look in the morning at the hoses (after a trip to screwfix for a new radiator 🤣)
I'm not going to pretend I even know what or where the map sensor is so I will have a look at that in the morning after I have had a search on here for what it is
Thanks for all your detailed responses, it is very much appreciated
