What is this part/filter ?

Hello,

I will do the maintenance of my Discovery 3 2005 TDV6 and I would like to know what this part or filter is. And if it's a filter that requires to be replace, if you know the LR part number Smile

It is located at the rear, left of the spare wheel and EPB module.
I notice it repairing the EPB.

The diesel filter is next to the gearbox (I have already ordered it).

Thanks in advance !

It is part of the suspension system, RQB000513. There isn’t a filter in it.

Air suspension compressor inlet filter, which has a foam insert inside ??

Try and trace the pipe back to confirm. Idea

Ah, thank you very much, guys.

So, I think I'll still open it up to check that the filter is in good condition and replace it if necessary. Thanks again.

I've modified the entire interior of the 4x4 and turned it into a rig for traveling. And with my small budget, I have to take care of the maintenance myself.

By the way, if anyone wants advice or to know how I do things to replicate them, don't hesitate to contact me (insta @KeepItWild.travel). I live in the disco all year round.

That's not a filter, it's the air intake silencer for the suspension, and is a sealed unit with no serviceable components inside. If you are looking for the air filter for the suspension system it's located inside the left hand rear cobby mounted on the body frame. It does have a sponge filter which can be removed and washed. Indeed, that's exactly what I thought.

The filter with the sponge and silica is located at the compressor level, which I already changed before leaving on the trip.

From what I found, it's simply a system to accumulate the pneumatic pressure (for auto-leveling ?). So, I think it's a small additional reservoir to the main one.

For now, there's no problem with the suspension, so I won't touch it.

Thanks again for all your advice ! 🙏

No, just for clarity the part you serviced is the air drier containing the silica and also cotton filters which are there to prevent any broken beads entering the air pathways. The component on the chassis in your pic is a silencer similar to an exhaust silencer, but to deaden any resonance when the compressor is running. It has no other function and nothing to do with the vehicle levelling, as this is controlled by the valve blocks for each corner.

There is an intake air filter in the boot cubby as I mentioned earlier which can be removed and washed. Thumbs Up

Ah ok, as I saw pnematic accumulator on ebay, I thought it was a pressured mini air tank. 👍🙏
