I went along to my local dealer today to spend some money; time to join you guys with a D3, or so I thought. All ready to haggle hard, but guess what? Nothing in stock for at least three months and just a couple of second hand RRS's on the forecourt. We have one dealer on the island, so I have the choice of waiting and paying full price, buying second hand from the UK or importing. I didn't think it would be so hard to give LR some of my hard earned cash, and I really can't see myself in a Merc or Volvo.
To add insult to injury when I got back to my trusty D2 I snapped the handbrake cable!
Forget permagrin, I feel permaglum!!!!!

The dreaded VAT; we don't have any and UK dealers can't knock it off. Brokers and importers seem to be able to though. I will persevere; I will get one. The time is right!

Thats 'cause your trusty old D2 was suffering from "permaglum" as it felt no longer loved as it sat in the dealers forecourt as you tried to trade it in

That’s no way to treat a trusted friend, poor thing.
Wait & you see now, your D2 will signal on LR grapevine & you’ll get your D3 alright, it’ll just be a lemon though.
Be very careful, those Discos are sensitive types, big on loyalty you know

After a bit of searching I have managed to source a D3 from the UK and also get around the tax issues. Delivery should hopefully be next week, so I now look forward to joining you guys with the Permagrins
