Petrol put in Diesel ??????

has anyone ever tried to drain the system and then fill it with fresh diesel flush it through and see what happens
i know everone says it is knackered ,but we had the same problem on a 7.5 ton tipper with common rail he drove till it stopped he then done the above and it went ok afterwards Question

If its under 10% petrol some 2 stroke oil will help fuel pump lubrication, preventing bits of metal clogging up the injectors etc. The petrol itself just burns. Its the high pressure fuel pump that needs protecting.

@Slimer. When I unlock the doors I hear a relay click (nothing to do with the doors) that, according to other threads, is the fuel pump priming
 There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

The fuel pump doesn't activate until position 2 of the ignition...this unlocking the doors business is not proven TBH Confused

To clear this mystery up....
