Petrol Station Greed!

Well it must be Bank Holiday!! 5 petrol stations in my local area all put up their prices first thing this morning. By an average of 3p. Coincidence! I think not.

You’d love it here in Malaysia. Petrol is 34 p/litre, diesel is 36 p/litre. Shame I can’t bring any back! Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Indeed a ripoff , always useto notice higher prices when I went on holiday during peak season in Dorset with the difference from here in Kent

Know West Sussex is also a holiday destination , would be interesting to see if they increase even more month by month

Currently for me , diesel is 152.9p and petrol 142.9p

Also the next village to ours has an Esso and when Goodwood Festival of speed and The Revival are on they mysteriously increase prices and then they come down again, on a Monday, after the events🤔🤔🤔

Blimey that’s terrible to do that , wonder if that’s even legal , but in reality who do u even report things like that to

Just found this

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/money/cars/art...ekend.html

Drivers are being warned petrol prices are set to rise above 150p a litre for the first time in four months - just in time for a sting on Britons planning trips over the extended Easter weekend.

A jump in the price of oil is set to trigger an increase in costs at filling station, the AA says, with some non-motorway forecourts already charging 149.9p per litre for unleaded.

With an estimated 15million car trips likely expected per day between Good Friday and Easter Monday in a week's time, motorists can expect their getaways to become slightly more expensive as a result of higher fuel prices.

I mis-calculated last week when heading home up the A9. I knew that the Tesco Filling Station in Perth was closed for refurbishment and thought I had enough in the tank to at least get to Aviemore. At Drumochter, I realised I was about 30 miles to Aviemore and my dash was telling me I had 32 miles range, so I chickened out and turned off into Dalwhinnie, where the diesel price turned out to be 166.8p per litre. Shocked

I'm happy to pay that, if it is what enables the filling station to remain there for this sort of occasion, but it still comes as a shock when you see the price.

Couldn’t you organise a group buy? Whistle
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

It's simply market forces at work.

The hotel industry works the same way, so does the airline industry & so on.

Stop moaning & get out there & enjoy the Easter break.

Anyway, nobody buys any RR for economy motoring.

Yep. Demand pricing.

Question is, if it was your business, what would you do?
