Picked up my new (to me, 56) HSE today and had asked for this to be done - VIN was within range. Sales guy said it was, phone paired OK (Nokia 6230) but there was no phonebook displaying - everything else worked OK.
Sales guy then reckoned it would only pick up the phonebook if it was on the SIM and not on the handset - of course mine is on the handset. Is he BSing me?

My N95 has all its numbers in the phone memory not the SIM. Phone book works fine on the head unit and numbers even appear in the Message Centre - but randomly.
D3 is MY08 with last rev of the PTI that incs the cradle connection and BT connection. Only us the BT.

Anyone know how to force the sort order in the head unit to display as first, last name rather than last, first name.
The phone is the former and its damn annoying to remember peoples surname when searching in the D3.

Dragging a topic from history back to the present...
I asked my dealer to do this upgrade for me while my D3 was in for a service in the last couple of days. It seems the update hasn't taken; in fact I've completely lost bluetooth capability in my vehicle and the voice command button on the steering wheel has stopped working.
I'll give them a bell in the morning or on Monday, but in the mean time, have those who've tried this update and had it fail reached satisfactory conclusions?

sounds similar to what happened to mine - the first time they tried to do this upgrade the bluetooth unit locked up and my dealer rang me to say that they would not be able to do the update until a new bluetooth unit arrived (under warranty). They fitted the new bt unit a week later and were then able to do the update. I had to use the cradle until the bt unit arrived as the bt was dead. 1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold

Another drag to the top, I've just had this update done on my '06MY HSE and need to know if I'm doing something wrong, the phone (Nokia 6300) is on LR's approved list and connects OK plus works as before ie dial from phone or dash buttons but screen display just says 'memory empty' which is what it did before the upgrade, I've tried copying contacts to Phone and Sim but no change
Any ideas gratefully received
edited ot add i have deleted and re paired the phone as well Mark

try using the trak forward / back skip buttons on the steering wheel when display says bluetooth. That works for me (or rotate the right knob). If you go into phonebook (i think) on the radio menu it doesn't work (if I remember right)

Sadly that didn't work however having talked to the Dealer he thinks it's the phone firmware, tried ot update two and both failed and are now dead I have another at home with later firmware that the LR site suggests will work so here's hoping Mark

Later firmware hasn't helped either, looks like the update hasn't been installed properly by the Dealer or the BT unit has a fault
I assume the phone book automatically transfers? Mark
