You fit a cradle, then a phone into the cradle. Seems only cradle made was for selected Nokia phones.
I've been looking for a cradle second-hand for ages but with no luck. The dealer price new is extortionate considering it just holds the phone and plugs in! No active components - they are all already fitted.
Maybe someone can tell who made the system, and what other makes/models had it fitted? Widens the possibility of finding one in a breakers.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. Hi
All the phone kit is nokia based but has been engineered by landrover to run on the most system its not like an ordinary kit where you could just change it when you change your phone.
I wanted to just change the cradle connection but Im told its not possible as landrover only made the cradle mount to accept a 6310 and I wanted to change it to take an iphone.
If there is some electronic guys on the forum that could make a cable to accept other cradles then I wouldnt see a problem in doing this but unless you know what your doing I wouldnt attempt it as you might blow it up
You could also make the kit redundant and put a parrot system in that would solve the problem
cheers
Great! I've sent you a PM. Thanks!A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Where does the other end of your cable go? Have you connected it into the LR phone controls?
I have a box of discarded holders for various phones and hope to find a way to connect into the LR/Nokia system. Has anyone investigated the non-cradle end of the cable? Wherever it is hidden, I'm suspecting that end will be a standard Nokia connector, and that bits from other Nokia systems may be a straight plug-in. Probably Nokia only though.A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. The phone works through the Bluetooth system in the vehicle, this only charges the phone, all the buttons and memory work as normal.
the pack comes with a little box of tricks which provides the correct voltage and resistance feedback for the phone to charge, was the simplest way of doing it when I looked into the charging issues of an IPhone.
This ones for Iphone with a skin, however you have to modify it because the manufacturer has not taken into account the thickness of the skin so the connector didn't fit correctly and would disconnect itself when in the cradle.

So . . . . the only functionality missing then would be the external antenna? I'm thinking that would be only a patch lead required. I'm not sure the IPhone can handle an external antenna, it was not mentioned in any of the wiring diagrams I found
Saying that I just found something on it wait one.

There is something out there from THB a cradle similar to the system fitted in the LR.
However cost wise its about 90 beer tokens for the base mounting and the another 60 for the holder, however it seems to have a patch style antenna in the moulding for use with the car antenna.
so basically direct external antennas are not supported by IPhone, but a patch will work.
