New member so please excuse any stupid terminology. New owner of a Disco 3 HSE 55 plate, my Nokia E71 works well with bluetooth although there doent seem to be any names, tags showing when i dial out or incoming just the number shows. I am assuming that the car memory cant see my phone. Has any one out there tried using an older phone such as a Nokia 6230 in the proper cradle and therefore does the car memory store the names and numbers so that i could then revert back to my bluetooth phone.....i hope my question is clear????[/b][/quote]

you may need to upgrade the s/w to enable the address book to be seen - "wiggs" may be able to help, pm him

possible, or just "enable" phonebook depending on the software version you have installed - wiggs is your best man to advise Duncan

The E71 doesnt let you chose which memory to use (phone or sim). You need all your numbers and names in the phone memory, not sim memory. My E71 works fine (nametags/etc) with my 09 model D3 now that I've done this.

Thanks Stu & Al  Question Al then is how do i make sure my names & numbers are on my phone memory on the E71?? and as your Disco is 09, does it have a more up to date bluetooth software?

mine is an 09, so might have later software. You go into phone tools, settings, memory (I think) you can copy all your sim info to the phone memory. You need to then empty the sim memory. You can also keep a copy of your contacts via the nokia PC suite so that you dont lose them.
