Thanks for all the comments and replies. I suspect that the problem with my T610 may be that it is an early one and possibly the software version is to antique to function properly - pain tho!
For now shall attempt to get some feedback from Landrover concerning forthcoming additions to their compatibility list and whether they plan to add the Sony Ericsson K850i or Z750i (a blue ticked Next G phone) to their approved list - with the software updates to match.
Failing that would be interested to know if anybody has identified a LR tested fully compatible Next G phone (ie functions on HSDPA) that is available in Australia...??
You would think that LR could do better, given that they offer this highly priced option to Australian customers.
Would prefer to go with HSDPA/Next G as I understand that it is where all Telstra phones are headed and they should (ultimately...) provide the best reception Have my new year Disco..! Slightly off topic but I just purchased a Blueant light, Blue tooth speaker phone, $96 from EBay and it works a treat, It just clips on the Sun visor, no wiring in.
It Automatically connects with Bluetooth to my Nokia 6120C Next G phone, I just hit the dial button and speak the persons name and it makes the call, very simple to use and great sound quality. Trust me, what could go wrong?

Andycapper,
I have a Nokia E65, which I sync with my office outlook - diary and email and phonebook.
The bluetooth connection seems to work fine - however I have never been able to acces the phone's phone book via the bluetooth setup. I could not do this from my old phone (JasJam imate) either.
I was told by my dealer that for that function I would need to add a phone cradle (the connection is on the botom of the centre console)??? I am now not so sure about this???
I can dial from the radio keypad, dial via voice command, and answer and disconnect via the stering wheel keypad.
I also have some issues with the bluetooth connection randomly dropping out - I blamed telstra to date Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?

Hi Folks,
In case anyone is interested, I bought a new phone recently, a Nokia E51 (a Next G compatible unit). I bought it outright (at just over 1/2 Telstra's price) rather than be tied to Telstra (it was also a cheaper option until the day after I bought it when Telstra announced a cheaper contract... ) .
Anyway it seems to work well, pairs with the system and doesn't play games like my old Ericsson. Also, for what it's worth, it seems this phone is also in use in the UK, so hopefully will be added to the list of LR approved phones sometime and benefit from any LR software upgrades (if any required).
Further comment available on the UK part of this site. Have my new year Disco..! Atacama Sand, active diff, active headlights, hi-ice, cooler, sliding loadspace floor, window tint, MP3, Mantec plate, roof rails, mud
