Pimping up a GS

Hello Guys,

I am waiting for a decent Disco to turn up to buy. If I plumped for a GS (nice and simple fewer things to go wrong?!?) What is the latest thinking on upgrading the ICE, sat nav etc.

I have read several threads and it would seem that I can retain the original head unit and have an outlet from that go to some sort of integration unit that then manages auxilliaries such as screen, GPS, amp, sub, iPod, parking camera and so on.

Kind regards,

Rowly

Right now, I would say forget anything to do with Sat Nav or ICE or Hi-ICE, may be someone will get there from a configuration perspective but the cost of the bits will still make it 'not worth it' - Leather Seats and Dash Trim improvements are your only realistic OEM upgrade options on the inside.

The exterior is much more open for messing with of course - apart from the colour it is entirely possible to upgrade to 'very nearly' G4 spec.

Hi Rowly,

IMO the lowest model to look for is an 'S' spec car as these came with the Harmon Kardon ICE and xenon headlights, depending on you budget 7.5MY 'XS' came with sat nav and leather as standard, xenons, A Bars, winches and bling etc can be added easily to any model.
