Pipe inserts at every connection ?

So I've bitten the bullet and bought a full Hitachi compressor kit for the Disco 4. However the kit only comes with 2 x 8mm brass inserts and 2 x 10mm brass inserts. Do i not need to use a brass insert at every plastic pipe connection i.e. 1 at each of the compressor joints and then 2 at every straight connector to the old pipes ?? So do i not need 6 inserts as the kit only comes with 4

Just look at the old pipe fittings to see where the brass fittings are. You have two in the rear pipes and one in each end of front pipes in to the dryer cap to the middle valve.

Hi Flack...yeah i can see I deffo need them for the compressor connection as the old ones are still there, but I've had to cut the 2 hoses (the 8mm and 10mm) that now both need the new straight pipe connectors that come with the kit as well....so i thought i would need an insert in both sides of the straight connectors but the kit doesn't give enough inserts (and neither do others I've seen online)

They will be fine without, I have seen plenty with no inserts in at all and they worked ok., if its just the straight connectors then they dont need any, those two pipes are the intake and exhaust so not high pressure .

Cheers Flack yeah that's I'm thinking now that they aren't needed on the plastic straight connector. I've checked out a few places that sell airline connectors on this small bore plastic pipe stuff and they don't seem to need inserts
