Pirrelli ATR again

I know by reading through the posts here that some of you have had the Pirrelli ATR fitted a while now. I was just wandering how you were getting on with them, how you find them on and off road and how they were wearing.
Thanks.

Hi Rich,

I would be very interrested about the answers because I am hesitating between the ATR and the AT2....

I have another few thousands to do... on my Zeros...

Therefore it will be great to know which are the best

I use both AT2s and ATRs. I keep the AT2s on my well worn 18" alloys for most off-road events and the ATRs on my shiney 19" alloys. That said, I've used the ATRs several times off-road when I couldn't be a Censored sed to change over the wheels before I went and they've handled just as well off road as the AT2s despite the closer tread pattern. But the ATRs are far better on-road, much quieter, and better cornering than the AT2s. The ATRs seem to be wearing well i.e. better than the normal Scorpions.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Mr H. These would be a permanent fit on 19" alloy so how about milage? How far have you gone on them so far.

I've secured 4 x 255/60/18 ATRs for £600 all in at local Kwikfit, due to be fitted this week whenever they arrive. Combination of a deal, which I think has since expired, some confusion re original quote and some price matching which involved a bit of chasing about but worth it in the end.

Mmmm - really? That's something to consider. I was going to go AT2, but not keen on too much additional noise...

Thanks

My ATRs are being fitted today - looked mighty good (and huge Shocked ) sitting stacked up in the fitter's shop. Will keep posting on road noise, performance, wear rate etc as time goes on.

Andy @ AJS - sorry we couldn't do a deal this time and many thanks for your swift respnse re prices and availability.

If you can take a picture of the D3 fitted with them, that will be great.

They seems on the Pirrelli web site, far less agrressive than the AT2.

Which may suits me very well.

First couple of hundred dry miles in on the 18" ATRs, so far no more discernable road noise than the well worn Zeros, the car handles exactly the same and they look great. Very Happy

Full marks to Alan and his boys at KwikFit in Dyce, great job and no scrapes or scratches whatsoever on the alloys. They even managed to remove the fugly clip on factory fitted balancing weights without leaving any marks and replace with the more obvious choice of hidden stick on ones on the internal faces Thumbs Up
