Pleasantly unexpected MPG

40 mile commute to work, mix of country A/B roads and A1 at steady 70-75mph with traffic, and got this MPG on arrival. Very Happy

and yes, i know the onboard calculations can be a bit over optimistic but please dont ruin my day Laughing

And no, it wasn’t going down a hill. It was a honking great mountain, from Port d’Envalira (Andorra) down. Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Impressive. Of course, from a mountain down is just vertical. You’re not actually getting anywhere !
Using that logic you could do an infinite amount of MPG by driving off the edge.
Laughing
I regularly get 35-37MPG showing on my trip computer on a run, even with 4 people in the car, but tend to stay just under 70mph for the motorway. I’m quite happy with that as probably slightly better than my previous car 2.2 diesel x-trail. Compared to my Brother-in-law’s 68 reg Ford Kuga with a 1500cc petrol engine that is very good (low 30s)
Cheers

Your profile is incomplete so we don't know what Disco you have.

Certainly 17 mpg is OK for a V8.

My computer regularly says over 35mpg with Duratrac ATs and a roof rack, however I’m not sure how true it is.

I’m deffo not going to say anything bad re rail travel. Mainly as I’ll be off in a few weeks on a trip from my local station to about as far as you can go by rail, about 1/3 of the way round the planet. Thumbs Up

Plus when you experience Vietnam Railways you never complain about good old BR. Thumbs Up
