Glorious picture. Think it might be a Red Kite rather than a Buzzard.

The Common Buzzard doesn't have the forked tail of a Red Kite, instead it has a fanned tail. Thumbs Up

Great photo. Although I was expecting to see a Buzzard and a four wheeled "quad". Very Happy

Did he attack the drone or just have a look?

It just had a look, went round for another go and went off, it's curiosity satisfied.

I'd say that's a Red Kite, not a Buzzard. The Kite's tail can look flat ended rather than forked from some angles, but Buzzards don't have a reddish colour plumage with a grey/white head. Red kites do.

Inclined to agree. Also the leading edge of the wing at the wrist is black, and the tip feathers are more open than on a buzzard.

This 'ere bumpkin reckons thee as got 'imself a kite there boy.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

It's a DJI Mini 2, Nigel. Bog standard apart from a neutral density filter.

I stepped-through the video frame-by-frame, cropped it slightly and hit auto-balance.

I’m not sure tbh, as Buzzards are very variable in colour from all dark brown, to much paler variations, all have dark wingtips though. I’ve seen young, but still large Buzzards with pale heads.

The angle may well be deceptive, as you say.

Hugh's video clip above clearly shows it to be a Red Kite. Thumbs Up
