Pollen Filter Housing Leak

The housing for the pollen filter seems to be letting in water which in turn is leaking onto the front passenger footwell carpet. I put some silicone sealant around the outside of the housing.
Water should not be getting that far should it?

Rolling Eyes I spent 2 hours clearing out the rear sunroof drain tubes before realisong. Embarassed

Sounds like a blocked / twisted / missing drain tube for the aircon - still active even at low temps

I've checked the A/c tube at the side of the centre console. Its well connected.
The engine wasn't running when I used the hose over the car for 20mins. It just seemed to be to much water for the aircon.
I could actually see upwards inside thew pollen Filter housing and there was water sitting in it. I have read other posts which mention the heater scuttle needing a mod?

I think you have been reading Discoduncs thread talking about submerging the bonnet in muddy water and where it goes. Maybe your plenum chamber drain is blocked.

I have no idea where it is, but I can tell you that a Fiat Punto has the same issue when parked under a tree for three weeks. The scuttle drain got blocked and the heater filled with rain water. I started the car and got sprayed with leaf mulch out of the dash vents Thumbs Up

How removable is the chamber? Looks pretty well fitted to me!

I could be going mad!
When I took the pollen filter out for the first time, I could see right up through the housing as far as the black mesh with daylight on the other side.
Yesterday I could not see any daylight or the black mesh - just a grey panel that was sloping towards the front of the car.....?
I put the hose pipe on the front of the screen/bonnett area and couldn't get the leak to start again.
Question Question Question

If you were looking upwards through where the pollen filter fits, then I think you saw the recirculation flap open the first time and closed the second time Smile

behind the lower glovebox - squeeze the to end hinges together and it drops down to reveal a black panel.
The pollen filter is behind this.
