Very poor radio reception |
|
During the last couple of weeks, I've noticed a major decrease in the quality of the radio reception. So much so, that I can't get Radio 1 clearly (or Radio 2) on the frequecies they are usually strongest at 97.9 98.2 98.5.
In fact it was so bad that I'm now listening to my iPhone instead.
It's on regular routes where I previously had no problem and it was all the way up the motorway from Northampton to Telford yesterday as well as out to Bala last weekend and back.
Have I got a radio about to go duff on me or does anyone know anything simple to try?
Cheers

Antenna amplifier may have become disconnected.
(hint: Search facility...... ) I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Bodsy - I've never had great reception on Radio 2 on forays to Bala. Surprisingly though I can get Radio Merseyside down there.
I've always put it down to the siting of the transmitters but since I know sweet FA about these things who knows? I see no ships........

Checked the search facility and it only really points to a break in the window antenna (can't see one when I'd already checked it) or a knackered radio....... Bodsys Brake Bible

I'm struggling to find the thread too. There was one referring to the aerial amplifier becoming disconnected, I think TFC led the "fix" but I can't seem to find it I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

There was one fo rthe Satnave screen being blacnk and no radio, which is a disconnected connector under the passenger seat, I guess I'll try that next just in case.... Bodsys Brake Bible
