Brodit is the way to go, and a magnetic mounted satnav like a Tomtom 5100 so can be removed easily.

I encountered a number of issues with using my LR in built Sat Nav at the weekend and need to do something about it.
Thinking mobile phone using Google maps/Waze or a new portable satnav. What is the latest on the best option here? Also looking for a good mount. Is Brodit still a favoutite? I want to keep the central screen clear so will need something that doesn't get in the way of that. Top of dash maybe??
Grateful if you can share the latest experiences and thoughts.
Cheers
 Gary

I have Brodit ProClip and regret I didn't find it earlier Smile
Using a mobile phone with Google Maps all the way - works perfectly for driving (you can also download offline maps if needed). Also some OpenStreetMap app can be helpful - sometimes they are much more detailed than Google Maps.

Another option is a Dashmount bracket

Thanks both.
I've had a look at the Brodit pro clip that goes in the position that DSL shows in his photo. On the Brodit site it looks as though the steering wheel might get in the way of the phone when I sit back. Can someone confirm this s not the case?
Also looking at the specific mount for my phone that I need to buy to go on top of the pro clip, it looks as though it would need to screw in the pro clip. Can someone confirm?
Cheers

I used https://www.brodit.co.uk/brodit/holders/_/_/215579.htm to give better clearance for viewing around steering wheel.
