A positive comment for County Land Rover in Barnstaple.
I've just called in to see Russell at County Land Rover (he always makes time to stop and talk ).
He invited me over to their Velar launch and was thoughtful enough to rearrange my booked service to the same the same day to avoid making two trips. Russell reminded me that there would be no charge (it'd been included in the deal) and they confirmed they'd be a loan car. When they told me that it'd be a D5, they kindly upgraded me to the last of the line, high spec, Defender 110 station wagon that they let me have last time
Happy days!

Good question! When I was trying to source my current car, the very last of the HSE Luxuries were being released from the Land Rover Management fleet to the dealers and they were by far the most active and helpful in looking and came up with just what I was looking for.
Unfortunately, my good sales chap and the Sales Manager at Truro both went on holiday at the same time, leaving it in the hands of a no hoper who was trying to get me to buy the wrong car and was pushing me by telling me that I wouldn't find what I wanted

Both Matthew and Duncan (Sales Manager) are top top notch Just a shame that they were both on holiday at the same time.

Good people at Truro?
After Rory left sales, I haven't found any and I absolutely despise their service department, I wouldn't let them touch my office chair!
Wayne, the service manager I think, drives me mad with his rudeness and ignorance, he must have previously worked for Audi or BMW.Andy

I wish any of them were perfect
Carr's attempt to sell me a pair of new rear discs and pads when they were "down to the metal" at 28,000 miles was silly and clumsy, especially when they turned out to have 4mm of pad material left over 1,000 miles later! However, they always made the car look ready for the showroom when they'd finished cleaning it, while the last time back from County it looked like Stevie Wonder had done it - in a hurry...
But, Matthew in Sales was always okay with me.

I get on really well with the service department at Carrs. They always bend over backwards to help me.
Agree with you about the condition of the car once it's been returned mine always looks great!

Sadly, County will be giving up the Land Rover franchise this year 2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as โsecondโ cars ๐
2021 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200
2022 to date: Hinckley built โ14 Triumph Trophy 1200 & sidecar!
(One of only two known to exist in the world!)
