Possible: Internal Anti Theft Protection

GN Vehicle Protection have had 3 enquiries recently about rear boot area internal window protectors for the D3 commercial & standard car. These would fit internally on the boot lid and side windows to prevent theft from the boot area..

As I have said to the relevent parties the product will have to look good and also be functional in terms of fit and not take up too much space. You do not want to put anything that looks bad in a car worth up to £50k.

We have made some general enquiries and we believe these would work out around the £400.00 mark including fixings - based on a quantity build.

I am personally not sure if they are A: Needed or B: To costly. I'll open up a sign up of interest and we'll see how the thread goes Thumbs Up

Any suggestions / comments?

Did I miss something...... Confused

These would be for the side windows behind B and C pillars but not for tailgate or front windows.
So how does that make the car secure Confused

Probably been a few windows put in amongst the membership over the years so would be a good idea, especially for those members carry loads of tools or computer equipment everyday.

Have you any idea on the fitting kits - will there be much cutting/ drilling involved to get them attached? What size is the mesh? somemore details would be good Thumbs Up

Warren,

Rear Boot Lid + 3rd Row Windows. Assume another guard in place behind the 2nd row - ie a dog guard.

Hey, we're going with the flow here, No Blueprint.......just reacting to group ideas Thumbs Up

Tanters, at present no more details yet in the public domain as I dont want to give a 'bum steer' to the community.

I would hope that there would be minimal cutting / drilling required.

2nd row windows would be good too - many commercial owners have taken off the blanking plates on those windows to aid visibility Thumbs Up

Good point Tanters Thumbs Up

My thinking was the middle guard plus the three rear windows would create a 'box' effect on standard cars.

On the commercial front I can see the middle row would need to be protected.

Happy to go with the flow but looks like different kits for each model Thumbs Up

I would be interested if the price was a lot cheaper.

I am interested for two reasons, neither of which are security:

1 To protect the windows when the car is fully loaded
2 So that I can fit kit to it (side windows) ie Maglite, Fire Extinguisher etc.

I'm not sure how you can make it secure enough to be a security device, I would think that the weakest point will be the fixings. Also how secure is the dog guard / load guard?

To give you an idea I'd think about £100 would be what I would be willing to pay, but you may not be able to make them cheap enough, but I guess if they were cheap enough then you'd obviously sell more!
