| Power fold mirror switch intermittent issue |

I've trailled through as many power fold mirror posts as I can find, but couldn't see a similar issue.
My power fold mirror switch works most of the time when operated, usually when parked up or driving through narrow lanes, but sometimes won't operate at all. When I stop and the switch doesn't work, if I open the door and operate the switch the mirrors will then fold - obviously I can't do this when driving - so I'm wondering is it a known issue that the wiring through the door rubber tube could play up? The car is on 142000 miles, so I guess average for an '08 plate.
I was tempted to buy a switch to try, but got other mechanical D3 priorities 1st. Volunteer driver with 4x4 Response South East Wales
