Open only the lower tailgate and stand on it to wash the back sections of the roof, and stand on the sills and seats (you can lay a towel down first to protect it first if you like!) to get to the rest.
It is a Land Rover remember - you can 'walk' all over it  2007 Porsche Boxster (987) 2.7

Eat lots of Marmite.
In about 3 months you'll have grown enough to climb up onto the wheels, the rear bumber and door sills to reach the roof and the windscreen completely

Forget the roof I cant reach it, I cant see it, or choose not to see it, so dont wash it. 
As long as the bonnet is clean it feels like the whole car is gleaming
Eneyway I got a myen gold one, the dirt colour because I have better things to do than wash the car, when it goes in for work at the steeler they alwaise wash it  It seems also that I get better attention from the mechanics at the steelers when its all covered with mud, you see the guy who works on it is a serious off roader and realises my issues are no bull.
