Power Steering Fault LRA Rescue me from a Car Wash -- Nearly |
|
I went through my normal car wash today, and had the usual programme which gives the underside a good hosing down (or up ..) . Its the sort of carwash that pulls you through it. At the end you have to do a hard right to exit it.
Came to the end and the steering wasn't working, and there was a fair bit of belt slipping type noise coming from the front end.
Couldn't do a thing with it for about 30 seconds. The slipping noise then stopped and the steering started working again.
I've been through loads of deep water over the past 2 years and nothing like this has happen before.
A quick look around / under etc didn't come to much.
Anyone any idea's ?
LRA wasn't needed by the way, but I would have been a hoot to have been rescued by them from the wash ..............Somewhere in-between my old D3 and what's to come next .........

I suppose if a slippery soapy substance did manage to get on the belt for the steering pump etc, then it may slip for a while , although the D3 area at front of engine is pretty well enclosed.

Renowned paint work killer. No matter what guarantee the operator offers.
The brushes can/are be loaded with dirt and just spin this against the paintwork. Not to mention bits of body moldings and other foreign objects the brushes have torn off previous vehicles only to have them hack away at your pride & joy.
I use a step ladder to reach the roof. Did you think I would leave you crying,

Sad or what but I start with the car at access height & wash the roof using an old caravan step, then towards the end put it into access height to get the lower doors & sills done. Saves my weary back.

Use a ladder or a step stool to get to the top.
