Practical test of LR3 in high water

Well, I was forced to test the capability of my 06 LR3 in deep water today. The Houston area has received over 12 inches of rain in the past week and came down most heavily today, with up to 10 inches in some areas. I estimate that the deepest water I encountered was about a foot and the LR3 handled it without a hitch.

This fellow wasn't so lucky...

Reminds me of some very early posts about exposed wiring underneath the car. As I recall, there were 2 areas - rear drivers side behind the wheel (which I have fixed with Waxoyl) and front passenger (I think) side which is hidden behind the wheel arch cover. This can't be reached without removing the cover. When my car was serviced over the Summer in Kent ("LR Dealer" maybe?) the service department ackowledged it was aware of the problem, that it had been addressed in later builds but that they weren't going to do anything about it until I had a problem. I asked "as in getting stranded with my family because the electrics get wet" to which the answer was "yes". So, to LR and all you dealers out there, we know that you know about this but you won't even spend 15 minutes to fix something that could incapacitate a £40k car and seriously inconvenience us. Great customer relations. LR, God help you if I get stranded because it will cost you a great deal more than the simple fix I asked for.

ps. Before anyone asks why I don't fix it myself, my answer is simply this. Why the Evil or Very Mad k should I on a £40k car still under warranty?
