preheat optional extra on new disco 4 how doea it work |
|
Hi All
On the new disco 4 i have ordered i have ordered it with the pre heat programe remote fob can anyone please tell me how it works, is it the same as the FBH on my old RRS and DISCO 3
i dont think it is as i dont think the engine needs to be running on the disco 4 as on my RRS the FBH only came on once i had started the engine.
Does anyone know how long it has to be turned on before the cabin will be toasty warm when its a freezing night before hand, can it run the battery flat when in use
Lastly the dealer said some thing about being able to send a text message to the car if you are away from it and have not programmed the timer is this true as the dealer was a bit cluody on this
cheers shawn bali blue disco 4 with rear dvd's, privacy glass, pre heat system, heated steering wheel, full size spare, piano black trim, ipod cable, 20 inch wheels and i love it loads more than my TDV8 RRS, KTM 250 EXC 2 Stroke for the real off road stuff

Pete,
Sorry to butt in - I have also ordered pre heat on my D4 & due to pick the beast up on Wednesday next week so very interested as to what I am now going to get!
As far as I am aware my D4 is ready as ordered (except for the rear audio controls which will be a point of discussion on Wednesday when they want paying)
The dealer has not informed me of any problem with pre heat & fob as I ordered all those moons ago!

To maybe give you some reassurance, picked my D4 up yesterday, no issues with FBH, all present and correct as ordered- works brilliantly- takes about 20 mins to get really warm and sounds like a jet engine! Just watch where the interior vents are angled, managed to set the alarm off on mine whilst using the the FBH. Motor is fantastic, spent all day today fitting bits to it.... love it
