A bit late in on the discussion but why do you need privacy glass? Doesn't it make things very dark for rear seat occupants in the winter?

On the same theme, why does LR not offer rear blinds as a factory fit?

Privacy glass offers just that - privacy! Stops all the scally wags seeing if there's something to nick. Stops some UV rays and it looks good!
