My bedside clock is already set, I never put it forward last spring as it’s such a Censored to alter, one of the few joys of retirement Laughing
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Seems the circle is complete….

Clocks went back to save on lighting costs in industry or something similar to that back in history….. they thought that more light in the day meant less use of power to light factories/homes/workplaces.

Now this what I don't understand. They don't 'go back' as such, in the Spring/Summer they go forward hence BST. Autumn/Winter is GMT so the real question should be "Why do we put them forward?".

The sun provides daylight for a period of time every day that is centered on noon - mid-day. In western world the humans want a day that is biased towards evening activity.

So much more sensible if we all were to get up/start work earlier in the daily cycle.
A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.

Most annoying clock is my camera. It's got GPS built in, takes its time from the GPS signal, but has to be manually set for which timezone it's in and whether daylight saving is on/off. As it knows where it is, it surely to goodness it could automate that?

I have my camera in UTC which does not have daylight savings at all. I find it the handiest. Whistle

TBH I could do that as every photo has a yyyymmdd-cameraname-4digitserialnumber name, but somehow I feel obliged to change it. Then always forget to change it back for a couple of hundred shots. Banging Head
