Radiator flush?

What are your thoughts on radiator flushing? - something that is rarely mentioned.
Is it necessary and how often?
What’s the recommended make of radiator flush?- is there any difference in brands?
What’s the recommended brand of antifreeze? - are they all the same?
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

All OAT based coolants are in principle the same. There might be some small differences in content but in practice it shouldn’t matter. Similarly, there are some people who swear that you should only put special water (from a pharmacy) into the radiator but most - including garages - put normal tap water. What starts to matter more is the ratio of anti freeze to water. Here we use 50%/50% which keeps it usable down to -36 or so. In some countries people simply put water in which I think is kind of silly… remember the coolant also enhances how the fluid behaves in high temperatures rather than only in cold. Mr. Green

IMO, but having recently replaced a radiator, the flushes are useless both for the heater core and for the radiator itself. If you believe you have obstructions in the radiator just buy a new Nissens one (goes for core, too) rather than using a karcher and some bottle of acid intended to loosen silt. Won’t work.
