Range rover sport seats in a discovery ?
Hi all
As title really - will the front seats from an 05 Range rover HSE sport fit into a discovery 3. They have the same spec, heated and drivers memory but I'm not sure if its a straight swop.
Thanks

Mechanically they fit right in but electrically they need a bit of tweaking. It has been done before and posted on here so a search may find it.
Seen a D3 with it done and it looked quite odd as even in matching black the leather and overall style was at odds with all the other seats. If done as part of a complete re-trim I think it would work very well.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

Yes will fit straight in. Put 2010 RRS ones in mine but as said , few wire swap around may be needed .
Look in my gallery for a pic.

Any impact on the seat height? I was told by a local mechanic that the seat is lower in the RRS and even after raising it all the way up, you are still relatively low. Based on the pictures it looked quite alright.

I would seriously doubt that the rear seats from a RangeRoverSport
would fit directly in the Discovery 3.
The construction is totally different, on the D3 seats
You first fold the backrest on top of the seat, and then
"collapse" the whole thing to store in low position,
while in the RRS You first flip the seats forward, and then
fold the backrests down where the seats were..

^^^^^ Definately don't, well not without major angle grinder surgery.

Not really a surprise. D4 & D3 are virtually identical aft of the B pillar, seats all fit the same mounting points. Benefit of a facelift rather than a proper new model.

I believe the door cards work, I have them but have not got around to installing them. The speakers all seem to be ok, the door pulls are thing I need to get sorted. Also, the electrics in the D4 are different so the window switches are not plug and play. I am looking at transferring the switches from the D3 door cards into the D4 cards.
The seats are a slightly complicated story so bear with me.
I wanted to keep the electric / memory control of my seats but the D4 seats I was getting, while brand new, were manual control. So what I did was get a good upholsterer to take the new leather and foams off the D4 seats and fit them (with the heating pads) to my frames. Worked a treat and they look and feel great. I will try to get some pics. I also kept my arm rests as there were none on the donor seats. The leathers are slightly different colours but I am not fussed.

Quick pic, will try to get some more
As you can see, there is a slight mismatch in the colours, but not really an issue for me. Solid, toasty and still electrically controlled. And the headrests now raise and lower in the front! Still to do the door cards, that will make a difference
