Welcome Chris, do a search of the site there's lots on ECU mods, Turbochip and JE Engineering both sponsor the site and offer discounts for members (see ads above), £700 sounds about right

Welcome to the site Chris. Had my car Turbochipped (see above Ad) and also fitted an ITG air filter. The difference is very noticeable, not only is the power increased considerably, the MPG has also increased from around 22mpg to over 25mpg. Cost me about £560 all told.

The ITG filter is £50. £700 sounds too pricey. I have T/C & filter. Vast improvement, much safer & more fun Very Happy

Chris

Like TFC said, what are you towing, 'cause I wondered about having the upgrade done (for towing of course dear!), but after towing 1800kg of twin axle caravan through France in the summer, nothing could touch the D3 for power, even on hills that have killed my old TD5 (and that wasnt a bad tow car), the D3 was holding 60-65mph, with just a quick change down from 6th to 5th.

Have it chipped for the fun and big grin element by all means (I would if I could slip a 500 quid bill past SHMBO), but it doesnt need it for towing.

Biggest difference I noticed when towing our 1900KG van across France was the improvement in fuel consumption. Before TC, I got around 17-18mpg. After TC this went up to 21-22 mpg!
