Seen these before, but worth a watch again

A great US President IMO (for what that's worth) and is now being recognised as such - had the great honour of being the first still living US President to have a ship christened after him (CVN 76)

Somehow I cant see the current President having the same honour (unless the USN wish to call a ship USS Clown)

Carl Vinson managed it in 1973 without even being president, just a congressman; same for John Stennis.

US president number 3 got a ship with his name a little bit before Ronnie (1814).

Jimmy Carter got a submarine which he also got to have a quick trip in.

Ronnie's was the first named for a still-living, former President. It was named in 2001, Jimmy's sub was named in 2004. Thumbs Up

Got me on the 3rd US President but the Jimmy Carter was christened in 2004?

(beaten to it)

Just googled third US President - Thomas Jefferson - ship named after him in 1941 - he must have looked after himself well to live that long?

I hadn't heard those, so thanks for posting.

To think that Reagan was thought to be a fool at the time but, looking back, he was a towering genius in comparison Sad

There is a statue of Reagan in liberty Square in Budapest its in recognition of the part he played in the end of the cold war and consequent "liberation" of Hungary.

I know he was no Reagan and I didn’t really like him but George W certainly made them laugh and poked fun at himself, he Quoted Reagan with out mentioning him in this Press dinner. I could just imagine The Donald doing one.
